PITA Held it's 6th General Assembly meeting on 5-5-2005,
two new board members in Gaza were elected, the two BoD members are:
- Mr. Tareq Eslim - ALTARIQ Systems & Projects
- Mr. Walid Kassab - Palestinian Internet Services

in addition, PITA auditors were re-elected (Talal Abu Ghazalah) to take over PITA financial auditing system.

PITA Members will participate in one of the global IT exhibitions in the world - GITEX Dubai 2003. PITA in coordinating with Paltrade are in the process to prepare necessary arrangements for visitors and exhibitors to be participated on the opening time, the following 7 companies/ will present Palestine Pavilion at the exhibition.

PITA Board of Directors meets Mr. Azzam Al-Ahmad, Minister of ICT. PITA’s Chairman has started the meeting by introducing PITA, previous activities as well as current and future plans. The existing ICT business environment was also discussed and the need for a Telecommunication Independent Regulatory Body was emphasized. PITA Board of Directors expressed their gratitude for the warm welcoming they received from the minister and for his approval with PITA’s representatives on the need for transparent regulation and opening the market for competition. The two sides have agreed to immediately set-up a joint working committee to include the ICT ministry, Finance and National Economy ministries and PITA to initiate the necessary tasks and work on development of new ICT law which will insure among other things the establishment of independent regulatory body for the ICT industry in Palestine. The two sides have agreed to continue the dialogue and direct contact for the benefits of the sector and the country.
